Russia’s weapons have been a source of fear to the other nations with regard to its wanting security issue. This makes the nuclear weapons susceptible to theft from terrorists or any other groups interested in nuclear weaponry and materials. North Korea seconds the list in the disarmament list since it has been manufacturing nuclear weapons after it backed out of the Agreed Framework accord. Pakistan takes the third slot with the support it gives to nuclear proliferation through the black market trade. The US has also failed in upholding the NPT requirements since it has transferred a fraction of its fissile material (uranium) to forty three countries in the Atoms for Peace project with an arrangement that upon the completion of the nuclear weapons assembly in the concerned countries, they would return the materials back to the US. This has not been adhered to and the uranium supplies are able to manufacture approximately one thousand nuclear arms.

It’s true that nuclear weapons are not that hard for a determined country to acquire, which is why the best counter-proliferation tool is diplomacy—that is, deal-making, which Trump prides himself on and yet, in this case, tosses aside.
